Upon the unfortunate conclusion of the 2019/20 season due to COVID-related reasons, the long-standing Howland brothers (James and Simon) decided to hang up their boots and step down from running North Camp FC since its establishment in 2016. The club as well as the current and previous players are grateful for all the commitment James and Simon gave to the club over the years.
In light of James and Simon's decision, four current club members were approached and agreed to take over the team moving forward. Tom Dallison (Chairman & Captain), Chris Pike (Secretary), Luke Gurney (Treasurer) and Dan Knight (Manager) all stepped up to the challenge and formed the new North Camp FC Committee. Since forming, the committee have been working hard to ensure all the necessary foundations are laid for the club to progress into the 2020/21 season including the obtaining of sponsors, ensuring league affiliation and the correct administration processes are established as well as exploring new equipment and kit.
"It was an easy decision as we have all been involved in North Camp FC for some time so it seemed like a natural step and a great opportunity to the mould the club in our vision."
Preparations are already underway for the new season, and even with COVID looming over us all, it hasn't stopped the committee driving the club forward. Pre-season is underway, new sponsors have been brought in to support the club, and the new squad is starting to take shape. The club also has new look with a new logo being designed, a website being built, and a new kit on the way.
"It's a fresh start for the club and we're excited to be in the driving seat, taking it forward. With a new look, new kit and things starting to take shape, we can't wait for the new season to get underway!"
The club are aiming for a 6th September start to the season and are currently looking to recruit new squad members - the club, committee and squad are all looking forward to crossing that white line on a wet and cold Sunday morning again!
